Applying for a new role can feel like a big step, and it's completely normal to feel a little nervous. That's why we aim to make our recruitment process as straightforward, supportive and transparent as possible.
While some positions require specific qualifications or technical experience, we're interested in much more than what's written on a CV. We also value people who demonstrate enthusiasm, curiosity, a positive attitude, and a commitment to doing their best.

Making your applicationReady to apply? Once you've found a role that's right for you, simply click 'Apply Now' on the job advert to get started. Each job advert contains detailed information about the vacancy, including what's involved in the role and what we're looking for from candidates. After selecting 'Apply Now', you'll be taken to our online recruitment system, Hireserve, where you can log in or create an account. We'll ask you a few questions about yourself, your experience, and what has inspired you to apply. This is your opportunity to tell us more about your skills, achievements, and career aspirations, so we recommend providing as much relevant detail as possible. You can also upload your CV and, if you wish, include a cover letter to help us learn more about you and your interest in working at NRS. |
InterviewsIf your application is successful, we'll invite you to attend an interview with the hiring manager and other members of the recruitment panel. Depending on the role, interviews may take place in person or virtually via Microsoft Teams. The interview is an opportunity for us to learn more about your skills, experience and motivations, while also giving you the chance to find out more about the role, the team and what it's like to work at NRS. During the interview, we'll assess your suitability for the role by exploring both your technical knowledge and how your behaviours align with our NRS Values. We encourage you to prepare examples from your own experience that demonstrate your skills, achievements and approach to work. For some roles, you may also be asked to complete an assessment or piece of pre-interview work. If this is required, we'll provide clear instructions and guidance in advance, so you know exactly what to expect. |

Receiving your offerAt the end of your interview, we’ll let you know when you can expect to hear about the outcome of your application. Once a decision has been made, we’ll contact you either by email or phone. We also recommend checking your candidate account regularly, as updates may be posted there throughout the process. If you are successful, we will first discuss and agree a verbal offer with you over the telephone. This will then be followed by a formal email containing your Employment Agreement and details of any onboarding requirements. Please note that any offer of employment remains subject to the successful completion of any pre-employment checks required for the role. It is important that you review your Employment Agreement carefully and confirm your acceptance as soon as possible. If we do not receive a response within the required timeframe, the offer may be withdrawn. Once your offer has been accepted, any required pre-employment checks will begin. |

Pre-employment checks and Right to WorkAll successful candidates will need to provide proof of identity, eligibility to work in the UK and employment/education history (typically covering the last 3–5 years) in line with NRS Baseline Security requirements. Some roles may also require full Security Clearance, which involves additional checks. For details, please refer to the Government National Security Vetting guidance. For roles that require a specific qualification, you will also need to provide proof of the qualification during the onboarding process. We work with external providers, including Agenda, Konfir and Yoti, to carry out pre-employment checks on behalf of NRS. Further information and instructions on completing these checks will be provided as part of your offer and onboarding process. |
